Mineral Mining Dust Control

< >

The Raring Corporation’s ADS™ Dry Fog dust control technology is commonly used to control fugitive dust emissions in mineral mining facilities around the world. This solution is especially effective in bulk material handling and mining applications where airborne dust control, low water consumption, and minimal added material moisture are requireTRC provides ADS™ Dry Fog Dust Suppression Systems for mineral mining operations worldwide.        TRC systems have been used to control dust from copper, gold, silver, manganese, molybdenum, iron ore, and nickel at mining facilities across North America, South America, Central America, Australia, South Africa, India, Europe, and Asia.

TRC ADS™ Dry Fog technology is commonly used to control fugitive dust emissions in dry-climate mining and mineral processing operations. Compared with traditional dust extraction or dust collection systems, ADS™ Dry Fog can provide effective dust control with lower power consumption, reduced maintenance requirements, and minimal water usage in many containable dust sources.

Where to Use ADS™ Dry Fog

ADS™ Dry Fog is best suited for containable dust sources, including:

  • Truck and rail dumps

  • Truck and rail loading areas

  • ROM bins

  • Reclaim tunnels

  • Conveyor and feeder transfer points

  • Crushing and screening applications

  • Hoppers, chutes, and enclosed transfer areas

For best performance, ADS™ Dry Fog should be used together with passive dust control and containment technologies such as wind fences, stilling sheds, conveyor hoods, engineered chutes, baffles, skirts, and enclosures. These components help contain dust and fog, provide retention time, and improve airborne dust capture.

Where to Use Water or Water with Chemical Additives

Water Spray Systems, with or without chemical additives, are typically used for dust sources that cannot be fully enclosed or contained, including:

  • Open stockpiles

  • Roadways

  • Tailings ponds

  • Exposed material storage areas

  • Other open dust-generating sources

For plant-wide dust control, water should often be applied at multiple points to uniformly increase material moisture and help bring the material closer to its Dust Extinction Moisture (DEM) level. TRC often combines Water Spray Systems (WSS) and ADS™ Dry Fog systems to achieve effective dust control across the complete material handling process.

TRC serves major mining companies, EPC contractors, engineering firms, and mineral processing operations worldwide with engineered dust suppression solutions for mining and bulk material handling applications.
