3.- Barge and Ship Loading / Unloading Dust Control

Barge and ship loading applications are challenging dust control points because each system has unique operating conditions, material flow characteristics, and containment limitations. During ship loading, bulk material often falls freely into the ship hold. When the material impacts the pile, airborne dust can escape from the sides of the growing material cone. Wind entering the ship hold can further disperse dust and increase fugitive dust emissions.

For these applications, The Raring Corporation recommends evaluating a PEBCO telescopic chute integrated with a TRC ADS™ Dry Fog spray ring located at the lower end of the chute. This combination provides both passive containment and active airborne dust capture.

The telescopic chute helps control the material discharge close to the top of the pile, reducing free-fall distance and improving dust containment. The TRC ADS™ Dry Fog spray ring generates a dense fog cloud inside the ship hold, allowing microscopic fog droplets to agglomerate with airborne dust particles. As the particles become heavier, they settle back into the ship hold instead of escaping into the surrounding area.

This integrated solution combines PEBCO telescopic chute technology with TRC ADS™ Dry Fog Dust Suppression Systems to support effective dust control for ship loaders, barge loading, barge unloading, ports, marine terminals, and bulk material handling operations.

Technologies: TRC ADS™ Dry Fog, PEBCO telescopic chute, dry fog spray ring, rubber curtains, passive containment
