1.-Apron Feeder Dust Control

Apron feeders are commonly used below dump pockets and primary crushing buildings to move large volumes of material into the crushing process. Depending on the layout of the primary crusher building, dump pocket design, and operating conditions, material flow through the apron feeder can generate significant airborne dust.

Apron feeders are often open or partially exposed to wind, making dust control more challenging. In these applications, TRC ADS™ Dry Fog can help minimize dust generation by applying a dense fog cloud directly at the dust source. The system uses microscopic water droplets to capture airborne dust particles and help them settle back onto the material stream.

For best performance, TRC recommends combining ADS™ Dry Fog with passive dust control features such as enclosures, baffles, wind protection, and engineered containment. These passive features help reduce wind interference, contain the fog and dust, and provide the retention time needed for effective dust suppression.

TRC can also integrate Mist Systems and Water Spray Systems (WSS) when additional material conditioning is required. This combined approach helps improve dust control performance in demanding coal mining and coal-fired power plant applications.

Technologies: TRC ADS™ Dry Fog, TRC Mist Systems, TRC Water Spray Systems (WSS), enclosures, passive dust containment
