| The
Problem Dumping wood waste, sawdust, or other dirty, fiberous materials creates a dust problem that often violates air quality regulations. The typical method of transport (large, closed trailers) and the typical method of receiving (tipping platforms and small hoppers as shown) make the job of dust control difficult. The Raring Corporation has applied its ADS dust control technology to these types of applications at cogeneration power plants in the central valley of California and at wood products plants in the Northwest.

| The
Solution Controlling dust at wood waste truck dumping stations is accomplished using the standard elements of ADS technology - fog to collect airborne dust, enclosures to contain the dust and fog mixture, and reliable controls. Note the fabric cover on top of the hopper and the quantity of fog filling it. Water mist would not be effective because the droplets are too large to agglomerate with the dust. And without the enclosure, the displaced air caused byu the dumping action, would carry the fog and water into the atmosphere.

| The Result We apologize for the poor quality of this photo but it gets the point across. With an ADS system properly installed and operated, dust is typically reduced by over 90%
